Jamie and Julia were off for a day out on Monday 16th June so I was scheduled to look after the dogs from 8.30am. This was the first time I would be doing doggy day care since Edna leaving us so I was sad for it to be written in my diary as 4 dogs but was only 3. I left Captain Caveman to get on with his day and we arranged that he would make us both some lunch and bring it over to Jamie’s to save me carrying it. Jamie and I had a cup of tea and we had a bit of a chat, he was doing really well but I could see it was still tough without little Edna in the house. Norman seemed to be taking it all in his stride and he wasn’t fussed about being friendly with Coco and Bebe when they arrived. They looked so cute having recently had a haircut and they cried for a good 5 minutes when their mummy, Julia, left. We had some dog cuddles and then they all settled down while I got on with some work on the terrace.

By 10.45am it was hot so we all came indoors to the AC and I worked at the kitchen table as Jamie’s desk is too high for me. I nipped to Kefal tea gardens to say bye to Vanessa and only had a cup of tea on account of having lunch later with my other half! Vanessa had to rush back as Matt was already waiting and had wanted to leave even earlier, I walked back with her and put their rubbish in the bin as Matt seemed to be stressing about not leaving on time. I said bye and would see them both back in Sheffield next month. I didn’t hear from Captain Caveman and I was rather hungry so when I checked, it turned out lunch was cancelled. Luckily, Jamie had a pot noodle in the cupboard so I had that and would replace it as I couldn’t go all day without eating and it was far too hot to nip to the shops. İf I’d known, I could’ve had something at the tea gardens.

By 3pm me and the dogs were all back outside, I admired the view and the swimming pool. I didn’t go in the pool as I was busy, but I did think I’d try our pool at home later, for the first time in a few years. Once again, it got too hot so we were back indoors after an hour. I was really pleased to see a Facebook post from an ex-Aviva colleague who was on a flight and had my book. She sent me a photo of ‘You Can’t Shit Yourself on a Bicycle’ and said she thought it was a great little read to start off her holiday.
I got a message from Jamie to say they would be back home earlier than expected so by 6pm I was packing up my laptop ready to go home. It had been a good day with the 3 dogs being well behaved but I had missed Edna. When I got home, Captain Caveman was still working and had been very busy. He updated me about his day then made us some pasta for dinner.
